The Shape of the Final Project
Nov 18, 2020
From all the iterations I made of this dataset, I think the the most effective was the bar graph (rightmost graph). This graph included the most amount of information in the clearest way I believe, with light gray lines separating the occupation titles and the % change neatly labeled in each rectangle.
Questions I’m asking the dataset
- What are the careers of the future?
- What does growth in healthcare professions mean?
- How has the pandemic affected growth in different industries?
- What factors are considered in predicting these numbers?
- (Is our formal education system an outdated model?) ← Using data from other sets from this source
People I’d interview
- Estee Wu (undegraduate student on a pre-med track)
- Liza Robertson (undegraduate nursing student)
- Jeniffer Park (undergraduate nursing student)
- Sameen Hashemiam (Parsons student who debated between studying fine arts or medicine)
- Hanna Scholze (Weill Cornell employee applying to medical school)
- A nurse practioner at a NYC hospital
- A waiter
